Small Hand Pressed Snowflake Medallion
Hand-pressed from recycled glass, these little hanging medallions showcase one of the first photographed snowflakes. William Bentley managed to photograph the snowflake in 1885 using a camera attached to his microscope.
Flash forward to today and Chris Salmon of Old Hancock Glass turned that photograph into a graphite stamp to be pressed into glass….fun enough the process that Chris uses to make the medallions predates the 1885 photograph by over 100 years!
When placed in a sunny window swirls of purple lace through the light.
Note: Each medallion is unique, 'no two are the same' really applies here
